Welcome to Owl City Wiki!! We're so happy you've decided to join us. Below is information on our style guide, including helpful templates for page creation.

Naming Files[]

In an effort to keep the system somewhat organized, please use the following naming conventions for files uploaded to the wiki.

Owl City Albums[]

Owl City Singles[]

  • Singles should be named with the album they originate from:
    • Example: Fireflies, from Ocean Eyes, having been the lead single, should be OC-3.lead.png.
    • Example: Shooting Star, from TMS, should be OC-5.single1.png, as it was not the lead single from that album.
    • Example: Deer in the Headlights, from ATBAB, having been a promotional single, should be named OC-4.promo1.png, as there are two promotional singles from that album and Deer in the Headlights was released first.
    • Singles not belonging to an album will be named <songname>.single.png.

Soundtrack and Promotional Songs[]

Songs not belonging to an album or EP, such as those released for a film soundtrack, will follow similar naming conventions to promotional singles in the movie/show.singlenumber.png format.

  • Example: Shine Your Way is a song relased for the movie The Croods, and would be named croods.single1.png, as it's the first single from the album and is not affiliated with an Owl City album.
  • Example: Waving Through a Window is a single released as a cover, and would be named dearevanhansen.single1.png
  • Example: Up to the Cloud is a song released for a game called Neural Cloud. The album cover would be named neuralcloud.single.png

Remixes[]

Remixes not belonging to an album or EP will be named similarly to soundtrack songs, assuming they have their own album covers.

  • Example: Saviour (Adam Young Remix) by LIGHTS, which was remixed by Adam Young, would be named saviour.remix.png.
  • Example: Daydreams (Adam Young Remix) by Breanne Düren would be named daydreams.remix.png
  • Example: Dementia, since it belongs to an OC album, would be named OC-5.remix1.png.

Demos[]

Demos will be named OC-Demo.<number>.png (such as OC-Demo.1.png) if they have their own album covers. Most demos will not need to have any pages or files attributed to them, however songs like Halcyon and Paper Tigers should recieve a page due to them being nearly complete tracks.

Songs by Other Artists[]

Songs by other artists featuring Owl City will be named with the album name. Example: Youtopia, which features Adam Young, will be named youtopia.single.png.

Album Pages[]

All album pages will eventually follow the same format, making the information easier for readers to consume and contributors to edit. Below is the bare-bones album page template. To see it in action, check out Coco Moon.
